The tentacles of the READY TO RUN go to Hong Kong

The South African Equine Trade Council has just completed another sortie to the East, with exhibitions in Hong Kong and Shanghai under the guidance of Peter Gibson. South Africa’s official representative of the Trade Council in Hong Kong is Andrew Yuen, a long-time patron of Summerhill, and a regular buyer of horses at the sales for Basil Marcus and Gary Alexander locally and for his own entertainment in Hong Kong.

Another to join the band of enthusiasts arriving at Summerhill to see the entries for the Emperors Palace Ready To Run Sale is our man Andrew, who is spending a couple of days with us poring his fingers through the catalogue pages, and indentifying those he intends having a crack at come the big day on the 2^nd November.

Andrew never arrives empty handed, as it is the custom among the Chinese to pack a bag of gifts for one’s hosts. Our trophy cabinet is crammed with memorabilia from Andrew’s visits over the years, and his association with Summerhill is one of more than a seventy foreign customers who keep horses with us across seven time zones, from Australia to America.
