Comment pre-Gallops 19 October :
“He is a balanced, well muscled colt. He is very athletic and long striding.”

Comment post-Gallops :
“This horse had every tongue in the place wagging after his gallop on Friday, and with very good reason. There were several people on the panel that choose him, and while in the end, it was Michael Roberts and Graeme Hawkins whose selections went forward, there were several others who declined to nominate him in the end because he had already been chosen. The fact is, at least six of the seven panelists had him on their short lists, and you be betting against the sun rising in the morning if you didn’t want to see him yourself. His sire was a world champion racehorse who has 23 winners already including four nominated for next year’s European Classics.”

Comment pre-Gallops 19 October :
“An athletic, scopey colt. He has a lovely low action and a big stride.”

Comment post-Gallops :
This is one of the English Stud books most celebrated families, and while we always liked Tour de Africque’s Graded Stakes winning half brother, Paris To Peking, at the same stage, this is a more imposing physical specimen. He’s only just coming into himself but he’s shown us enough, he warrants your attention.”

Comment pre-Gallops 19 October :
“This is a strongly made, balanced filly. She has a quick action.”

Comment post-Gallops :
“We’ve said all along that Rambo Dancer will make an outstanding broodmare sire (like his paternal half brother, Northern Guest), and this filly is witness to that. Speaking of witness, that is exactly what her name Fakazi means, and we’d be disappointed, if on the strength of what she showed us on Friday, this one doesn’t turn out to be exactly that.

Comment pre-Gallops 19 October :
“He is a balanced, well muscled colt. He is showing us some serious work.”

Comment post-Gallops :
” As good a mover as we saw on Friday, he’s another who might serve to remind us of the regret we might feel at Russian Revival’s departure. Remember, he has decent wins popping up all over the country, not the least of which will be the opening favourite for the R500 000 Emperor’s Palace Ready To Run Sweepstakes on the 3rd November, Imbongi.”

Comment pre-Gallops 19 October :
“She is an athletic filly with a strong hindquarter.”

Comment post-Gallops :
“Her mum’s been a touch disappointing to date, particularly when you consider the depth of the family behind this one, but it seems as if Labeeb has changed all that. She’s not big, but she packed a big punch on Friday.”

Comment pre-Gallops 19 October :
“This is a neat, athletic filly. She moves well.”

Comment post-Gallops :
Her mother was a pocket rocket, and this one’s built in the same image. Those that know Arrowfield stallion and three quarter brother to Girls Rule, Snitzel, will know he answers the same description, and while she’s not big, she covers the ground like her pedigree suggests she would.”

Comment pre-Gallops 19 October :
“An attractive colt with lots of quality. He is long striding.”

Comment post-Gallops :
“As good looking a son of Labeeb as there is in the sale, we saw Bruce Gardner nudging his trainer Gary Alexander’s elbow as this one passed the 100 m. Judging by the pace of others around us who raised their pens, they weren’t alone.”

Comment pre-Gallops 19 October :
“He covers ground and is an athletic, low actioned horse.”

Comment post-Gallops :
“This guy put on a grand show on Friday, and who knows, he might’ve been the second coming of one of his more illustrious relatives, Imperial Dispatch, who topped the Ready To Run Sale several seasons ago and went on to become Champion Two Year Old of South Africa, and then won a classic at three. He came within a nose or two of winning the J&B Met as well.”

Comment pre-Gallops 19 October :
“He is a well made, attractive colt. He has lots of quality and is showing us great potential.”

Comment post-Gallops :
” Champion racehorse Fantastic Light came into the gallops with a Group One winner the previous weekend in Europe, and this fellow had plenty of pressure on his shoulders on Friday. Not that he was fazed, as he was one of the day’s best movers. Remember too, his mother was one of the session topping broodmares at the Magic Millions Sale last year, so he not only has the action, he also has the pedigree.”

RARE DISTINCTION

Comment pre-Gallops 19 October :
“She is a feminine, athletic filly. She is an attractive mover.”

Comment post-Gallops :
” On pedigree, one of the stars of the show, and at the gallops. This is a very late foal complimented by her two recent Stakes winning brothers, River Plate and Regal Runner. There were more than a couple of ticks against her name in the vicinity in which we were standing.”

Comment pre-Gallops 19 October :
“A solid, correct colt. An impressive mover.”

Comment post-Gallops :
“His brother Amaphupho is now looking like one of the better three year olds in the Western Cape, yet in the opinion of our team here, this might be a nicer horse. Certainly, his gallop on Friday suggested he would stand on his own credentials.”

Comment pre-Gallops 19 October :
“He is an athletic and balanced colt. He uses himself well.”

Comment post-Gallops :
“There has only ever been one daughter of Mr. Prospector at stud in this country, and she is the dam of Rugosa. He was a latish sort as an individual, but he has been one of the sales big improvers, and he showed how far he’s come with his effort at the gallops.”

Comment pre-Gallops 19 October :
“She has a good length of rein, and is an athletic filly. She is a sister to the Group placed Rose Window.”

Comment post-Gallops :
She was a bit bewildered by the hundreds of people that had turned up to watch her, looking around as she went through the 100 metre mark, but she showed enough on the day to suggest her Graded Stakes placed brother, Rose Window, would’ve been proud of her.”

Comment pre-Gallops 19 October :
“A big, well made filly. Has a lovely attitude and is a good mover.”

Comment post-Gallops :
“An extremely fluent mover, this filly is a perfect model of what you’d expect of her sire and dam. She covered the ground gracefully, yet she did so with a good punch of speed as well. We saw a full compliment of stars in Robbie Sage’s notebook.”

FROM THE FAMILY OF FESTIVE SEASON (ARCSA CHAMPION OLDER MARE, 7 WINS INC CAPE FILLIES GUINEAS G1), FEARLESS (EQUUS CHAMPION 2YO COLT 2006, 3 WINS INC GOLDEN HORSESHOE G1).

Comment pre-Gallops 19 October :
“He is a neat, correct colt who is dynamite in work.”

Comment post-Gallops :
He closed out his gallop with a bit of an attitude, obviously recognizing some of the celebrities in the crowd, and wanting to show us his final circus act. Nonetheless, his jockey managed to maintain his poise, and with the family underlining this fellow, and Labeeb on top who knows? Working with the first descendants of Danehill this season taught us why he is the stallion the world has come to know. This guy is not big, but he has the big scopey action of the Danehills, and he surprised us with his speed.”

Comment pre-Gallops 19 October :
“This is a lovely, attractive, classy filly. She is long striding and has her admirers.”

Comment post -Gallops :
If you read Timeform’s racehorses of any year, you’ll notice there are some very good ones with slightly round actions, and this filly answers her own sires movement in doing the same. Not that it stopped him from winning the Dubai World Cup. This was one of Graeme Hawkins prized selections, and he’s not one of the world’s top commentators for nothing.”

Comment pre-Gallops 19 October :
“He is a tall, strong colt. He has a long stride and covers ground.”

Comment post-Gallops :
” Show A Heart was already the Champion Freshman sire of Australia in 2006, and he led the second crop sires this year for the season ended in July 2007. While he wasn’t on the panel, one of the most discerning racing scribes in the country, Charl Pretorius, was quick to scribble this one’s name on his chart, and that would be enough for us.”

Comment pre-Gallops 19 October :
“A scopey, athletic colt. He reminds the team of a young Emperor Napoleon and is working very well.”

Comment post-Gallops :
“One of the more imposing specimens in the sale, he reminds us of very much of Emperor Napoleon at the same stage. He has a big, loping stride, and while he was enjoying the attention he was receiving from the large crowd gathered in the marquee as he went through the 100 metere mark, you could see the makings of a racehorse when he went past the post.”

Comment pre-Gallops 19 October :
“This is a well made, flashy filly. A sister to Group winning, Ready To Run graduate, MZWILILI.”

Comment post-Gallops :
“She reminds us so much of her half sister, Mzwilili, who was a Group winner of the Pretty Polly Stakes by the end of March this year, and there is no reason why this filly shouldn’t emulate her. If we didn’t know she was from a different generation, we might’ve thought it was the same filly.”
