2010 SUMMERHILL READY TO RUN GRADUATE
Way West filly Extra Zero, a graduate of the 2010 Emperors Palace Ready To Run Sale, made a winning debut in a Maiden Juvenile Plate for fillies over 1160m at Turffontein on Saturday.
She won by a neck from Uptothemoon, driven along by S’Manga Khumalo, but has the scope to improve much from here on.
Sean selected this good mover at the Summerhill Breeze-ups last October - she was generally considered one of the best Way West offspring on the sale, and she was secured by Larry Nestadt and partners for R240,000.
Extra Zero has stamina in her damline and Sean said: “I think she’ll be effective up to 1400m, but she has good pace so we’ll probably keep her to sprinting for now. She’ll be going to Durban and we’ll look for a suitable Juvenile feature for her.”
