“Gifted in the Saddle”

While Black Wing was steamrolling Cape Town’s top division on Sunday, and advertising the wares of the farm in far away places, back home at the Lion’s River Polo Club, Hannah Goss was making her dressage debut after just five lessons. Her rosette for first and another for second in her two tests, have booked her a place at the one that defines the best horsemen in this country, the Royal Show, at the end of May.

You get there in this game because you love and understand horses, because you’re temperamentally able to handle it, and because you’re gifted in the saddle.
