2009 Summerhill Ready To Run Draft

“TAKE YOUR PICK”

This year’s Summerhill Stud Ready To Run draft is one of the most exciting we’ve had for a while, representing more than 21 different sires, from local KZN stallions, to the big names from the Cape and overseas – they’re right up there with some of the world’s best.

The sires include :

Bezrin, Deep Sleep, Kahal, Muhtafal, Malhub, Modern Day, Sarge, Silvano, The Sheik, Toreodor.

First season sires
:
Cataloochee, Hobb Alwahtan, Solskjaer, Tiger Hunt and Way West, as well as…

International Group 1 producing sires :
Anabaa, Galileo, Hussonet, Oasis Dream, Red Ransom and Street Cry.

It’s a very diverse draft and there is a bit of something for everyone!

The string is coming along very well and we’ve noticed a whole bunch of babies that are stand-outs already. This year, Justin Andrews, the son of Terry and Annabel Andrews, of Sorrento Stud in the Cape, joined the team and is assisting in the preparation the 2yo’s for the Breeze ups. He is usually seen riding work for Glen Kotzen in Agter-Paarl and has a natural way with young stock. Justin has also been a great help in the strings, giving the younger riders some good tips and bringing along some of the less advanced horses.
