Hear The Drums notched up his 26th career win on Friday when taking victory in the Racing Express Profile Speedsters Stakes over 1000m at Fairview.

In so doing, the R42,000 graduate of the Emperors Palace Ready To Run broke the course record, raised his earnings to the R1.4 million mark and is now within striking distance of Sentinel’s record 30 career wins.

Ironically Sentinel, the winning-most horse of the past 50 years in terms of victories, was also a product of our pastures.

What an amazing horse that just keeps on breaking the records. Hopefully he reaches that 31 win mark. Another interesting point is that he is by out of fashion sire Gold Press who has not produced many other champions. I guess it just goes to show that when the nick works boy does it produce.
