Anticipating the first crop of any stallion can be quite daunting. There’s an awful lot at stake, from the value of the stallion, to the carrying cost of the mare, and then the cash that goes toward the raising of the resultant foal. The fact is, a bad foal costs the same to keep as a good one on the road to maturity, and so first impressions are vital.

They not only stroke the egos of those that have backed the stallion prospect; a good crop is a source of peace for the mind, and what’s more, it fills the book for the next season.

We had three new sires kick off their careers in 2008, and because of the numbers they attracted and because they got out of the starting blocks very early last season, we’ve already heard legions of good reports on the Strongholds and Mullins Bays. The stream has begun to flow for Ravishing, and rather than suffocate you with our own propaganda, we’ll let these pictures do the talking.
