EMPERORS PALACE READY TO RUN CUP NOMINEES

Writing in the Independent Group’s The RaceGoer, David Thiselton wrote,”The big talking point at Turffontein last Saturday was the duel between the two Emperors Palace Ready To Run Cup hopefuls, Smanjemanje and Pierre Jourdan. 

Pierre Jourdan looked magnificent going down and produced a telling finish, while Smanjemanje under a vigorous ride from Piere Strydom began hanging across the course. 

Smanjemanje just held on but had carried Pierre Jourdan across the course and the subsequent objection was upheld, the correct decision. 

Smanjemanje was a little bit keen early on and should come on for the run. Both horses will give the Mike de Kock-trained Havasha a tough time on November 7 in what could be the best Ready To Run Cup to date as far as class of horse goes.”
