THE PANEL HAS SPOKEN : THE WEATHER GODS ALSO HAD THEIR SAY

Craig Peters calls the Panel Selections
2009 READY TO RUN GALLOPS AT SUMMERHILL
For all the weather prophet’s predictions of big rains for Friday’s Ready To Run Gallops, it seems, for those who may have doubted it, there is a God after all, though for the multitude of religions we appealed to for help, we’re left wondering which should get the credit. Perhaps in the end, it was the power of collective bargaining.
The rain held off just long enough for the very last horse to get over the line, and then down it came, in buckets. Till that point, it was a fine day in the Midlands, matched by a fine facility, fine hospitality and fine food and wine.
Those that follow these columns will notice that our personal observations and pen pictures have been uploaded onto our website and blog, and through the course of the week we will be uploading photos of the draft, as well as links to the gallops videos by early next week. For the time being, we’ll let the panel do the talking, because that’s what they were here for, and after all, they represent some of the biggest names in racing, and we daren’t dilute their observations at any price.
Their selections were logged by BSA’s Caroline Simpson, and they follow :
