EMPERORS PALACE READY TO RUN CUP CANDIDATE
Trainer Paul Matchett revealed his hand for the R1,5 Million Emperors Palace Ready To Run Cup when Mluleki powered home Saturday in the Mr S Murray Workriders Maiden Plate over 1450m on Turffontein’s inside track.
The improving Muhtafal gelding, out of Queen’s Conduct, burst from the gates to set the early pace before being challenged by a determined Fort Jerez at the 350m marker. Work Rider Chamu Mabaya remained fluid aboard and in the final 200m Mluleki strode clear to win by 2.75 lengths going away.
The Summerhill Stud Syndicate runner is a R70,000 graduate of the 2008 Emperors Palace Ready to Run Sale and takes his career stats to 1 win and 3 places from 5 starts.
