It is no secret that we have been big fans of the Ready to Run/Breeze-up sale concept for some years now. For over a decade we have been promoting the benefits of this sale and the concept is taking off here, as it is around the world. Rio De La Plata’s exploits seem to have inspired a massively increased spend by the Maktoum family; with at least 22 of the 47 six-figure lots at the 2008 UK breeze-up sales owned by Godolphin, Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum or owners associated with the Dubai ruling family. Coolmore’s past purchases include Derby runner-up Walk in the Park and they were underbidders on the top 5 lots this year. The combined 2008 British and Irish turnover was 21.3 million guineas, a near five-fold increase in the last decade.

With G1 Garden Province winner Outcome adding her name to a string of group performers graduating from the Ready to Run sale in recent years and with the introduction of a million rand sales race, the Emperors Palace Ready To Run Cup, it is no wonder this sale is attracting attention and continues to grow from strength to strength.
