Coolmore Stud reports that well-bred mare Callwood Dancer (4m Danehill Dancer x Ahdaab, by Rahy) landed a win in the Group Two Nassau Stakes at Woodbine, Canada on the weekend.

Placed in England as a two year-old, she was transferred to North America where she won four races before going to the gates for this Group Two event over 1 1/16-mile at odds of 9-1.

The Roger Attfield trained mare jumped well and went straight to the lead where she stayed, holding off all challengers to win in a photo finish by a nose, taking her overall record to five wins and six placings from 14 starts with earnings of $386,855.

Raced by Harlequin Ranches, Callwood Dancer was originally purchased for 100,000 euros at the 2005 Goffs Forbes Sale and comes with a great pedigree as she is from Ahdaab, a half-sister to Group One winner Maroof and also to Sabaah, the dam of triple Group One winner Desert King.

Callwood Dancer becomes the 68th stakes-winner worldwide for Danehill Dancer, who is one of Danehill’s very best sire sons at stud anywhere in the world.

With three sons of the great Danehill in Way West , Solskjaer and Stronghold resident at Summerhill, we are in the fortunate position of being blessed with a wealth of genetic greatness.
