The drive to the line in Saturday’s Grade 2 Tibouchina Stakes over 1450m at Clairwood saw Bold Ellinore (KAHAL) fighting it out with Ethereal Lady.
Mike de Kock Racing reports as follows : Bold Ellinore stuck her nose in front at the wire, but the Stewards were lightning fast to lodge and uphold an objection against Bold Ellinore, who shifted off a straight course and bored her rival over the last 100m. “This is our second Graded race this season lost in the boardroom due to a horse not running straight and I am disappointed,’ said Mike de Kock. “A pity too for owner Mike Destombes to lose a race like this.’’
Bold Ellinore is a daughter of KAHAL who was bred by Summerhill Stud in conjunction with Mike Destombes.
