CELEBUTANTE - Malhub sires first winner

Celebutante (Gold Circle) First season sire Malhub celebrated his first winner when the aptly-named Celebutanteimproved on his debut with a fluent victory over 1000m at Greyville. A son of Kingmambo, Malhub retired to stud boasting a Timeform rating of 126, after a career highlighted by a smart victory in the 2003 Gr1 Golden Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot, where he had World Champion Johannesburg behind him. Runner-up in the Gr1 Nunthorpe Stakes and Sprint Cup, Malhub proved himself a first-class sprinter. He stands at Mick Goss’ Summerhill Stud in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. A R200,000 yearling purchase, Celebutante is the first foal of four times winner Exclusive Honour ( Exclusive Patriot ) and traces to Coronation Stakes and Lancashire Oaks heroine St Lucia.
