A Tale of Two Cities : Robbie Sage and the Guineas

It’s never easy to win away from the sanctuary of one’s own stronghold, so when you have to cover a 1000 miles to get to the scene of combat, with only three previous racecourse experiences under your belt, it takes a bit of doing.

Yet that’s exactly what Robbie Sage and Pointing North achieved on Saturday, picking up the Bloodstock SA Guineas (Gr.1) with surprising ease. Whatever one has to say about this horse’s obvious talent, it still took a great ride from champion jockey Piere Strydom to keep him going after making all in the early stages of the race, against the best of his age.

For all that, his task was no doubt made that much easier by the fact that he’s a consumer of Africa’s finest horsefeed. Congratulations to all the guys at Vuma Feeds, and congratulations to Robbie, Piere and all the horses’ connections, on your wisdom in choosing the best feed your money can buy!
