Success At Last!

We have recently been experiencing a quiet week, so it was nice to see two Summerhill-bred horses flying the flag high at Clairwood yesterday.

Regal RunnerRegal Runner (Gold Circle)First to strike was Regal Runner, a 2006 Summerhill Ready To Run graduate, out of Ring The Changes, owned by our good friends and clients in the UK, Roger and Judith Foster. Regal Runner showed that he is back to winning ways again, and that concerns over his recent lack of success were unfounded, as he sliced through the field of the MR 83 Handicap. This talented son of Summerhill super sire Muhtafal, jumped well, and steadily made his way through the field, hitting his stride at the 200m and going on to win convincingly by three lengths.

Art Of WarArt Of War(Gold Circle)The KZN Bookmakers Stakes Maiden Plate saw another Summerhill-bred winner, Art Of War, owned jointly by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifah al Maktoum and Mike de Kock. This son of Summerhill super sire Kahal and out of Cariad, showed his class and future potential in an interesting tussle. Pacing himself well, Art Of War timed his run perfectly to come up the middle and win by half a length from a fast finishing Fasta Masta.
