Pick Six's sister makes and auspicious debut

Charles Laird We’ve been waiting for this one for a long time. Pick Six’s own sister, Dancer’s Delight, was badly hurt in a paddock accident as a yearling, and people of lesser resolve may well have relented and suggested that she be put down.

In the end emotion prevailed and she was encouraged to live with a permanently crooked head and a shoulder which had been completely dissipated by muscle wastage.

When her time came however, she responded to our educational process and then answered every question we ever asked of her on the Summerhill track. On Sunday she repaid that faith with a commanding victory on her first career appearance. To those that have contributed their time at Summerhill, Charles Laird’s crew in Johannesburg and our fellow breeders John and Diana Mellows, congratulations!
