First crop sire, Oasis Dream, looking the business

Van NistelrooyVan Nistelrooy (Coolmore) This weekend witnessed the fourth Stakes winner from Juddmonte’s first season European sire, Oasis Dream (by Green Desert). He looks the business, as was expected, yet you still have to give credit where it’s due. Top first crop sires across the Northern hemisphere appear to be Oasis Dream and Solskjaer’s one time stable-mate, Van Nistelrooy, who already has a Gr1 winner to his credit.

Architect of Shadwell’s amazing South African success story, Angus Gold, also deserves credit, though this time not as a prospective sire himself. It was his intuition that led to the presence of Kahal, Muhtafal and Malhub in South Africa, and his instincts were also responsible for the birth on the farm last month of a very attractive foal by Oasis Dream, out of the well-related mare, Qusoor (by Fasliyev) for Sheikh Hamdan.
