Luminary Honoured at East Cape Racing Awards

Besides Hear The Drums’ Horse of the Year honour, his trainer, Choppies McLachlan was honoured for his association with the Champion, as well as Summerhill stalwart, Peter Fabricius.

A special award was given to Andy Smith (father of Champion East Cape trainer, Gavin Smith), jockey Nadine Rapson and the doyen of East Cape trainers, Stanley Greef, who was the man that started the trend of training 100 winners a year and maintained it for decades. They all deserve our salutations, none more so than Stanley Greef whose association with Summerhill and many top runners, goes back decades as well.
