Michael Booysen's personal choices for the Ready To Run

Michael BooysenMichael Booysen - Our Top Ready To Run ManWe promised you last week that we’d disclose to you what our top Ready to Run man’s choices were at this early stage for the Ready to Run. They are:

1. The Malhub colt out of the Candy Stripes mare, East Africa. We need to be mindful that Candy Stripes is the sire of current World Champion, INVASOR, and that Malhub is the best racing son in the Southern Hemisphere (and certainly his fastest anywhere) of the second-most expensive stallion in the world right now, KINGMAMBO. This mare’s been threatening to get a big horse, and our fellows think this could be the man. They’re also very aware of all the talk about the Malhubs coming from those that bought them (and importantly, from those associated with their pre-training). The vibe is what drove the prices at the Sibaya sale (up to R300 000), and we’re lucky to have sixteen Malhubs in the draft.

2. His pick of the fillies is Hear The Drums’ half sister Requiem. Now, Hear The Drums is a past Horse of The Year (East Cape), the dam is a Stakes winner, and she’s from the first crop of a Graded Stakes winning son of Danehill: could this be an explosion?
