Irish Derby Start for Galileo

soldier of fortuneSoldier Of Fortune (TDN/Getty Images)Sensational young sire, Galileo, posted his 3rd European Classic winner from as many crops, when Soldier of Fortune romped off with the Irish Derby (Gr.1) on Sunday, by 9 lengths, equaling Sinndar’s record margin seven years ago. Described by his trainer Aidan O Brien (winning his 5th Derby in 10 years) as capable of “anything”, Soldier of Fortune joins Red Rocks (St Leger) and Nightime (Irish 1000 Guineas) among Galileo’s first Classic heroes, emphasizing Sadler’s Wells prowess as a sire of sires.

Summerhill will offer a smart son of Galileo, closely reminiscent of his sire in looks, at next years Emperor’s Palace National Yearling Sale.
