The Sire's Logs

Jet Master’s plunder of the National Sires Premiership, and MUHTAFAL’s emergence in the top five, herald’s a new meaning to the definition of what has traditionally been described as the “Big Five.”

Dominated in recent seasons by Western Winter, Fort Wood, Jallad, Al Mufti and National Assembly, the penetration of the leaderboard by these two (Jet Master and Muhtafal) is not restricted to them alone. KAHAL has made a major move in the past two seasons (he’s a clear third by earnings per runner) and with stablemate MUHTAFAL makes the top five stallions (with his 2nd crop) by Three Year Old earnings and has already penetrated the top ten on the General Sires.

Besides these guys, COUNT DU BOIS has already demonstrated his undoubted value as an “up-and-comer”, and we’re in for a rollercoaster as the season enters its final four months.
