Arqana aim to match superb 2006 figures

Four days of breeding stock sales start at Deauville tomorrow, comprising broodmares, foals, and fillies in and out of training, with the second day commencing with three catalogued stallions: Majorien (from Etreham), Forestier (Hoguenet) and With the Flow (Quesnay). Last year’s sale was headed by Nobutaka Tada’s EUR1.7m purchase of Mandesha’s dam Mandalara on behalf on an unnamed Japanese client. The auction showed mammoth increases, with turnover up by 124% on 2005 to E17.7m. The yearling and horses in training sales that followed were also up by 105% and 44% respectively.

The breeding stock sale has 891 catalogued lots this year.
