The show moves to Deauville

Along with the rest of the racing community, the Gosses will be leaving Her Majesty’s rain-sodden kingdom today for the warmer climes of Normandy in France, knowing very well now what it was that caused most of our forbearers to desert their English homeland centuries ago.

Trade around the Tattersalls sales ring may well have been hot and furious at times, but the weather certainly wasn’t and everyone will be looking forward to a bit of respite when they get to Deauville this evening. Meanwhile Summerhill picked up one more pearl out of the ring, an attractive Royal Applause filly out of an own sister to its leading young sire, Kahal.
