Literato (purple cap) Photo: Racing PostGodolphin Racing, which finished off its flat-racing season on a high note with victory in the Hong Kong Cup last Sunday week, has added another high-class European runner to its team. Godolphin’s latest purchase is Literato, France’s best three-year-old colt of the past season.
The winner of the G1 Champion Stakes (2000m) at Newmarket in October, Literato had previously won two Group Threes and a Group Two in France. The son of Kendor from the Cardoun mare La Cibeles has raced 11 times for nine wins and two seconds. He was previously owned by France’s Minister Of Defence, Herve Morin. Literato will winter at Godolphin’s Al Quoz base in Dubai and may join Ramonti, another of the stable’s ready-made European purchases, in a Dubai World Cup campaign.
