King Letsie III and Mick GossWe’ve had an unusual couple of days. Well, “unusual” inasmuch as any visit by Royalty might be considered in that light, but “our” King, Letsie III of Lesotho, is a committed stockman and a racing fan of the serious order, and His Majesty loves his trips to Summerhill and his horses, and this trip commemorated his visit exactly a year ago.
Apart from his beloved Scagway and her smart filly foal at foot, His Majesty attended the gallops this morning to watch his filly, Uzimi (which means Beauty Queen – by National Emblem out of exactly that, Beauty Queen) going about her paces.
The King arrived with all sorts of gifts and good wishes from the Mountain Kingdom, and we in turn wish Him, Her Majesty Queen ‘M’ asemate and the Family, a blessed Christmas and a New Year of fulfilment at the races.
