It never rains but it pours

Friday night witnessed the last of a long line of awards for the past racing season, this time the Gold Circle KZN celebration of racing champions. The Summerhill team were there in force again to bring home the Breeder of the Year trophy for the sixth consecutive year. It’s a matter of pride to our guys that no other establishment has been presented to the engraver since this trophy was inaugurated.

That doesn’t get away from the fact that winning it is no less significant at the sixth time of asking, as it was the first time. We know what a privilege it is to get this award, as we take nothing for granted. We also know the responsibility that lies with being a champion and the need to honour it with dignity. Most importantly, we know the distinction that rests in working with one of the finest teams on earth, and to whom we owe everything. Well done again, team.
