Pick Six wins the epic battleLast week Rebel King won the Diadem Stakes (Gr2), and this weekend Pick Six won the Midmar Premier Trophy (Gr2), both at Kenilworth. In an epic battle, and with a good bit of improvement to come, Pick Six struggled manfully to overcome the Cape Derby winner Floatyourboat, giving notice that at his best, he’ll be a handful by the 29^th January, when they renew the J & B Met for the 100^th and umpteenth time.

Labeeb has two runners from his first South African crop, a first-time-out winner in Durban and a second in Cape Town. That’s not the end of it though. There were eleven winners off the farm last week, not the least of which included Dynamite Mike’s spectacular win over the Vodacom July Handicap hero, Hunting Tower, and Gymnast’s impressive third in the Secretariat Stakes.
