Did anyone hear Neil Pretorius on Tuesday?

Racing’s colourful racing presenter, Neil Pretorius, was on duty as usual at Cape Town’s Kenilworth meeting on Tuesday, when Sbhakabhaka came through to win her second consecutive race for Etienne Braun, Shane Gomes, Barry Clements, and of course, the farm. Now we know that our good mates down there are generally blissfully unaware that there’s even life on this side of the Drakensberg, but there’s no doubting Neil’s great intellect, and he’s at least alert to the fact.

In congratulating the connections, he commented that “when there’s a Summerhill runner in a race, you’d better be standing to attention. They’re the pride of South Africa right now”.

Neil, that’s commendable praise, and coming from you, we really appreciate it.
