Course breaking debut for Bennet

Up and coming local trainer Bennet Bulana made his first trip to The Winner’s Circle yesterday when his horse Regent’s Honour (Muhtafal-Royal Fields) won the R57 000 Sledgehammer Novice Plate over 1000 m at Scottsville.

Showing plenty of pace in the early stages Regent’s Honour withstood the pressure applied by President Jet and with 200 m left to go, raced clear to win  by a good margin, breaking the  course record in a new time of 56:06. 

After a host of second places hopefully this will be the beginning of a prolonged winning streak for Bennet.
